Privacy
Last updated 16 October 2026
Your privacy comes first. Your documents never leave your device: the editor makes and opens your PDFs right in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us. The site keeps no account or profile of you. This page says exactly what happens to what you give the site, and who else sees it.
Who we are
PDFjet Forms is made by PDFjet Software, in Unionville, Ontario, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information this page describes. Questions go to our privacy contact, at support@pdfjet.com.
Your documents and forms
- Never sent to us. The editor writes your PDF, and opens one again, in your browser, on your own computer or phone. Your document, and what you type into it, never reaches our server or anyone else's. You can check it: your browser's developer tools show nothing sent when you save.
- The PDF is the file. Everything a document needs to be edited again is inside the PDF you save, and nowhere else.
- Forms filled in are written the same way, in the browser of the person filling them in: their answers go into the PDF on their device, and reach no one until they send it.
- Collect responses reads the filled PDFs you choose in your browser, and makes the table there; nothing is sent, and nothing is kept.
- Encrypted answers. When the maker of a form chooses to encrypt its answers, the answers are encrypted on the device of the person filling it in, as they save the filled PDF, and only someone with the form's key file can read them. Only the answers are encrypted: the rest of the PDF, the form's questions and design and a note that its answers are encrypted, can be read by anyone who has the file, and so can the file's name and the email that carries it. A form without encrypted answers gives a regular filled PDF, which anyone with the file can read. We never have the key, so we cannot read the answers, and we cannot bring a lost key back.
What stays in your browser
- The document you are working on, so that a closed tab or a crash does not lose it. It is kept in your browser's own storage, on your computer, and is never sent to us. Clearing the browser's data, or choosing New, removes it.
- A form you are filling in, on the page that fills in forms, with what you typed, so that a closed tab does not lose it, until you save the filled PDF, or choose Close this form, which clears it. It is never sent to us.
- Your license key, in a cookie, once you activate PDFjet Forms Plus, so that the browser remembers it, and a signed note of it, which lets the browser make your PDFs without asking us. They hold the key and the date its subscription is paid until: no name, no email. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them.
- A note that we told you why a key this browser held stopped working, so that it is said once. It holds no document and nothing about you.
- A purchase not finished: the numbers of the checkouts you started and of the transaction paid, with when and in which language, in your browser's own storage, while Paddle completes it, so that the key is shown even if the page is closed too soon. They are removed once the key is shown, or after a day.
That is all. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts on forms.pdfjet.com. To buy PDFjet Forms Plus, pay.pdfjet.com opens Paddle's checkout, which Paddle's privacy policy covers.
Buying PDFjet Forms Plus
PDFjet Forms Plus is sold by our reseller, Paddle.com, which takes your payment, your name, your email and your address, as the tax invoice needs, and handles the sales tax of your country. Paddle's own privacy policy covers what it does with them.
Of each order, we keep only what we need to help you: your name, your email, your company if you gave one, your country, and your subscription (its plan, the number of people it is for, its status and its dates). We never keep your street address or phone number, and we never see your card.
We use these details to send your key, to answer your questions, and to tell you about changes to the service. We send offers only if you agreed to them at checkout, and every such email has a link to stop them. We never sell or share your details.
We delete them about two years after your subscription ends.
Our server emails your key to the email you bought with, from support@pdfjet.com through the mail server of our host, IONOS, when you buy, when you ask for it again, and when you replace it, and keeps no copy of the address. To keep Lost your key? and Replace the key from filling someone's inbox, it remembers a fingerprint of each address typed in there, a SHA-256 of it, for ten minutes; it is not the address, though it could tell whether a given address was typed in. To find your purchase, our server asks Paddle which subscriptions the address you typed has; the address goes to Paddle for that alone.
When a key is activated, our server asks Paddle whether its subscription is active. The key identifies the subscription, not a person.
Our server and its hosts
Our server takes part only in buying PDFjet Forms Plus and in its keys; it never sees a document. It is a small program on the site's host, IONOS, and the site's traffic passes through Cloudflare. It records errors, to fix them, and what it does with each purchase and key, such as a key emailed, replaced or stopped, by the numbers Paddle gives the subscription, the transaction and the event, so that we can answer a question about an order. It records no documents, no answers to forms and no email addresses. To stop abuse, it counts requests by a fingerprint of the IP address, a SHA-256 of it, not the address, for a few minutes at most.
Like any website, IONOS and Cloudflare see the IP address of each visit and keep ordinary records of visits under their own privacy policies.
When you write to us
If you email us, we keep the email and our answer as long as we need them to help you, and delete them after.
If you make a form
The answers to your form are between you and the people who fill it in: the filled PDFs go from them to you, not through a store of ours. You decide what your form asks for, and the law of privacy that applies to collecting it applies to you, as its author.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or to delete it, where the law lets us. Under Canadian law, and the law of the European Union and the United Kingdom where it applies to you, you may also complain to a data protection authority, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Write to support@pdfjet.com; we answer within 30 days.
Children
PDFjet Forms is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly take personal information from them.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at its top changes too. A change that gives you less privacy will be announced on the site before it takes effect.
